THE RATS a.k.a. The Rats of New York… formed in Mole City under the NYC subway trains. The Rats emerged onto the streets in 2005.

• Burning through enough band members to fill an AMC Gremlin, The Rats have toured Belgium, Germany, Holland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, American Midwest, West Coast, and Eastern shores of the United States.

• Their sounds have been described as “…unpredictable and multi-faceted, drawing from moxier eras of Rock N Roll and Garage Punk, while still keeping an inventive ear bent toward the future”

• The Rats of New York –  12 song LP Vinyl (Eponymous) was released with a live concert February 17th, 2019, at Our Wicked Lady, Brooklyn NY. Streaming services to follow soon after, worldwide.

• Their single “I Dont Understand It” received top 10 radio airplay on college radio in California.

• Special projects include a four-way international split with Barbacans (Italy), Combomatix (France), and Russia’s Thunderbeats, on Chickpea Records. Also a 4 song Ep titled The Tabloids, inspired by the titles of tabloid articles, available exclusively by download card (500 ltd.), by request.

• Upcoming releases are to be supported by a fourth European Tour 2019, including Germany, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.

The Rat’s music, lyrics, and personas have appeared in:

• Full feature films under major distribution (Big Fan, 2009) (Signatures, 2014), as well as at Sundance Film Festival and Gotham Film Festival (Big Fan, 2009), and a cameo appearance in THE RE-UP short film fest by Last Pictures Production.

• Nightlife photo documentary Ignited by conceptual artist Steve Ellis.

• The photography of Patrick McMullan, Cecilia Jurado, Leee Black Childers, and Jackie Roman.

• The Rats also appear as fictionalized versions of themselves the novels of New York Times bestselling authors John Land, William Martin and Deb Koontz.

• Videos by Ursula 1000, Twin Guns and a Killer Diller Records video documentary.
